Fasten your seat belts third grade! Check out the directions to a new and interesting project for you!
Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Kwasnik will be teaching you all about Knowlton Township in your social studies class. You will also have the opportunity to read the booklet Historical Sites of Knowlton Township. Once you have learned some of the facts we will create a digital story about our town!
1. You will be asked to choose 3 historic sites to compare and contrast in a digital story. It is best to choose sites that have been discussed in the Historical Sites of Knowlton Township in class and seen around town.
2. Next you will create a story board. This is considered your “prewriting” and must be completed before you will be allowed on program Photo Story3. The story board will plan out what pictures you will use and what you will say for each picture. Scroll down for a sample I have done for you. Click here for a blank copy.
· Go to the lab apps folder on the computer and view the historic photos and the current photos. These are found under the Knowlton History Picture Folder.
· Choose the 6 photos needed for your story. Three of them have to be historic with the other 3 being the current match to them.
· Write the titles of the photos you plan to use in the correct order on the story board worksheet.
· Next write the words you will say (narration) under each picture title. Be sure to use compare and contrast words in your narration.
3. Hand in your story board worksheet. When you have my approval, you may then click here to view the You Tube video on how to use Photo Story3. You may
next scroll to the bottom of this screen for my sample digital story.
4. Next log onto Photo Story 3 and begin your creation! You will need to select the photos in your story board plan and the opening photo and the credits photo I have done for you. You will end up with 8 pictures total. Be sure to check with me if you have any questions. (Note- You do not need to customize motion. This is optional.)
5. Be sure to preview and save your story. If you need help with this you need to ask!
6. When your digital story is complete, please let me know so I can view it with you.
7. We will be sharing the digital stories with the class!
Have fun! Be creative! Don’t forget to ask for help if you need it!
